After winning three games in three days to open the season, the Parma Panthers (3-1) will face a stern challenge again this week, playing four games in three days at the annual Buck's Bags Spring Tournament baseball tournament, played at multiple locations across the Boise valley.
Thursday, 3/20, 10:30 am vs. Sandpoint (Rodeo Park, Nampa)
Friday, 3/21, 10:30 am vs. Century (Fort Boise Park, Boise)
Friday, 3/21, 1:00 pm vs. Marsh Valley (Fort Boise Park, Boise)
Saturday, 3/22, 10:00 am vs. Horizon Christian (Oregon) (Rodeo Park, Nampa)
Each of the three Idaho opponents, just like opening week, comes from a larger classification than Parma (3A): Sandpoint and Century are both 5A teams and Marsh Valley resides in the 4A classification. The two teams met in last spring's state tournament with Parma rallying late to defeat Marsh Valley. The Panthers moved down an enrollment classification level this year, from the now-4A Snake River Valley Conference to the 3A Western Idaho Conference.
Horizon Christian, located near Portland in Tualatin, Oregon, finished last season 14-10 overall in the 3A Special District 1 (Vale and Nyssa are both members of 3A Special District 2 for baseball).
