The Parma Gauchos and Parma Vaqueros will compete this summer in the American Legion Baseball Single A and Junior divisions. Players from Parma, Vision Charter, and Weiser are eligible to play; players from other schools/areas may be eligible on a case-by-case basis, according to American Legion rules.

Age Requirement: Junior Legion Players MUST turn 13 by Dec. 31 and CANNOT turn 16 prior to Sept. 1. Single A players MUST turn 14 by April 30 and CANNOT turn 20 prior to Dec. 31.

Cost: $100 Uniform and registration fee. Additionally, parents will be required to volunteer a minimum of 3 times to help with various duties. We will have sign-up sheets for volunteers to help with concessions, scorekeeping, scoreboard, announcing and gate. Volunteers do not have to pay entrance fees on the dates that they are working. In lieu of the volunteer requirement, parents may PRE-PAY a $150 fee. Parma Baseball is about building community and getting kids and parents involved. Our goal is not to raise money, nor is it to keep players who do not have the means to pay from participating. We want to encourage participation at all levels.

Uniforms: Jerseys, Socks, and Hats are provided. Players need to provide their own gray baseball pants, black belt, and cleats.

Transportation: Transportation is not provided; however, as part of the baseball community, we ask that players and parents attempt to help carpool and rideshare if possible.

Schedule: The schedule can be found on the "News" page, and any changes will be communicated via the GAMECHANGER APP. We will be utilizing this app to communicate with players and parents. The messaging and scheduling functions are available at no cost. There is some stat, live scorekeeping, and possible video options available for a fee, but these are not necessary for the communication. PLAYERS OR PARENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY COACHES OF THEIR ATTENDANCE THROUGH THE APP - THIS HELPS COACHES

TREMENDOUSLY AND CONTRIBUTES TO OUR PLAYERS LEARNING THE IMPORTANCE OF

COMMUNICATION. There will be a district and state tournament for the Junior Legion Vaqueros and there will be a District, State, and Regional (NWCART) tournament for the Single A Gauchos if the respective teams qualify.

Dual Participation: The American Legion has modified the rules regarding players who participate on teams other than their American Legion team. Any players wanting to play on 2 teams during the summer need to file the appropriate paperwork and receive approval from the American Legion.
